Hello there!  I just wanted to say Hi and tell you that I am so exicted about visiting your school next week.  Ms. Eversole invited me to come to your AMAZING school, so you could get a little extra magic for all the Poetry reading you will be doing (and are already doing!)

I can't wait to meet each of you.  I know we'll have a great time.

Happy Reading!

Happy Birthday, Bethany!!

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 12:40 PM

I had so much fun this morning!  I had the pleasure of visiting the classroom of an amazing girl who turned 7 years old today.  I got to be a visiting reader to her class and we had a great time.  We read George Washington's Birthday, A Mostly True Tale by Margaret McNamara and illustrated by Barry Blitt.  It is about George turning 7 years old and what his day might have been like.  It is really funny!

We also read Dr. Zeuss fun book Happy Birthday to You!  He has created another crazy world that reminds you that "You are You"!!  And it helps your imagination take off and create your best birthday ever!

So, Happy Birthday to Bethany!!

Happy Reading Everyone!!

Reading Camp at MacArthur Park Church of Christ

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 3:35 PM

Hello to all my new friends from the Reading Camp at MacArthur Park!  I had a wonderful time spending the day with you, I hope you had a great week.  It looked like everyone had fun, got some new books and bookmarks, as well as some other goodies. (Remember the mega-phone is an outdoor toy!  At least that's the rule at my house!  ;))

Here is a list of what I read with my friends today if you want to tell your parents.

Pre Kinder and Kindergarten: I loved the big sister telling her brother all her secrets!  They had a lot of fun and played a bunch of sports!

First grade we got to read a few chapters from the Magic Treehouse Series.  These are such great books, I love Jack and Annie's adventures.  Now, I'm going to have to try and find the book so I can read the rest of it.  Did Annie get rescued?

Second Grade enjoyed the last two chapters of the Basketball Fairy book with the goblins.  The guys like the goblin part, I think.  It is a cool story too.  I wonder how the magic basketball ever left fairyland?!

Third Grade read all about working as a team when we read about Franklin and how his soccer team finally figured out how to make a goal during their soccer game.

Finally 4th and 5th grade had a great time trying to do some Tongue Twister Olympics!  They were almost better than The Book Fairy, but I think I was able to hold onto the Gold Medal of Tongue Twisters with Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss.

I hope you all have a super great summer.  Remember, we want monster truck brains, NOT potato brains (which means you have to read, not just watch TV and play video games all the time!!)

Happy Reading!!

Children's Museum August 11

Posted on July 1, 2012 at 4:40 PM

I'll be leading the Storytime at the San Antonio Children's Museum on August 11 at 12:30 and 1:00 pm.  I hope you will come visit me there.  The Museum is such a great place to visit, play, and learn.  Once a month they host their Storytime and I'm there every other month.  Our theme will be Family Fun, so I hope you come see which books I'll pick to read - maybe it will be one of your favorites!

Until then,

Happy Reading!

More fun at the San Antonio Children's Museum

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 1:30 PM

Hello to all my fans!  I've been sprinkling my fairy dust at the SA Children's museum.  I just love their storytime and so enjoy all the neat kids I meet there.  Last time we took some video, and you will see the SA Children's Museum is featured in the video as well as the San Antonio Library Memorial Branch Summer Kick-Off.

I hope you will take the time to watch my new video here.  I had a lot of fun and a lot of help making it.

I hope you are taking time this summer to work on your reading.  Most book stores and libraries will give you free stuff just for reading over the summer.  It is a super fun way to keep up with your reading over the summer.  Remember, NO POTATO BRAINS!!

Happy Reading!

James Carson Elementary Readers are Awesome!!

Posted on May 9, 2012 at 8:05 AM

Hello to all my new friends at James Carson Elementary in Northside ISD, San Antonio, Texas!!  I had a great time visiting your school and hope you enjoyed meeting me.  I made sure to sprinkle my fairy dust all over your school, so you would have a great Children's Book Week.  It sounds like amazing fun to make bookmarks, trade books, write your own poetry and all the other fun things your teachers have planned.

Thanks to the Kindergarten and Pre-Kinder classes for being such great listeners!  I hope you are working on getting that super fast, super strong monster truck brain.  NO POTATO BRAINS!  Remember to be "Wild About Books"!  I love that book and had a great time reading it with you.

Happy Reading!!

Celebrate National Library Week at the San Antonio Children's Museum!

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 8:05 AM

Come have fun with me at the San Anonio Children's Museum this Saturday, April 7, 2012.  At 12:30 pm for storytime, we are going to kick off National Library Week (April 8-14)!!  I bet you've never read a book about a librarian at the Zoo, getting the animals to read!  We are going to read "Wild About Books" by Judy Sierra,  with pictures by Marc Brown.  It is a hilarious book- wait until you see what the hyenas do, and how much the bears love their books, and my favorite is when the bugs write poems and other animals start writing their own books!  I bet you never noticed all the animals on the wall in the Story room.  I'm sure they'll love this book too!

See you there.  Happy Reading!

Hello Rhodes Kinders and First Graders!

Posted on March 9, 2012 at 6:05 PM

Hello to all my new friends at Rhodes Elemetary school. I had a great time with all the Kinder and First Grade Students. I hope you keep your promise to be good readers. Now you have some of my magic, so there are no excuses!

I hope you liked the books we read in Kindergarten: "Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum" by Lisa Wheeler and "I Love You Stinky Face" by Lisa McCourt. They are both really fun books, and you did a great job helping me read both of them. Make sure you don't step in any gum, you never know what might happen!

First Graders read "I Love You Stinky Face" by Lisa McCourt and "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss.  You are awesome at tongue twisters.

I hope you have a fun Spring Break. Remember, no potato brains!! I want you to work on your super fast, super strong monster truck brain, so you are ready for the last few weeks of school.

Happy Reading!
