Hello and welcome to my blog. I am finally figuring out some of this 21st century stuff. I hope to give you updates on my activities and school visits through my blog. I am having a good summer. With so MANY summer reading programs, I am staying very busy sprinkling readers. I've also had a great time finding, reading, and sprinkling books so you will have great ones to read.
The books I have read lately are:
The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer (he is the author of the Artemis Fowl series)
Science Verse by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith (it has a really cool CD with the authors reading the book. They are really funny!)
More Optical Illusions by Al Seckel. This is a really cool book with lots of optical illusions in it. What is really neat is there is a section that tells you why we see the illusions the way we do.
America's Beautiful Quilts by Zaro Weil. I bought this book for a friend who likes to quilt. It has pictures with all different kinds of quilts and tells you all about them.
On Morning Wings by Reeve Lindbergh. A beautiful picture book.
MY READING CHALLENGE: See if you can read this book and become really good at it: Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. The book is "A Tongue Twister for Super Children" and in the front it says, "Take it SLOWLY. This book is DANGEROUS!" It is lots of fun to read and even if you get one part of the book where you can say it fast, you will really impress your friends. I LOVE reading this book out loud when I go visit kids. It really is fun (and not too dangerous - but your tongue might get numb!)
Have a great day. Happy Reading!
